How to Pick the Perfect Photo for an Embroidered Pet Portrait

An embroidered pet portrait is only as good as the photo it starts from. Our artists hand-draw every design from your picture, so a clear photo means a portrait that really looks like your pet. Here is what works best.

1. Use natural light

Take the photo near a window or outside on a bright, cloudy day. Avoid flash - it flattens fur and turns eyes red or green.

2. Get down to eye level

Shoot from your pet's height, face-on or at a slight angle. Both eyes and both ears should be visible.

3. Keep it sharp and close

Fill most of the frame with your pet's face. Blurry or far-away photos lose the details that make them unique, like a white spot or a crooked ear.

4. Send the original file

Upload the full-size photo, not a screenshot. If you have several, send them all - we can combine angles.

5. Not sure? Ask us

Every order comes with a free design proof and unlimited revisions. If your photo is not quite right, we will tell you before we stitch. Email support@hoopbloom.com anytime.
